Hello, Happy Friday!
This has been an incredibly long week for me. It hasn’t been bad, it just seemed to drag on for some reason. Before I share what I did today, I just want to share a little side story: For Christmas, I got a fitbit. For those of you that don’t know, this is a band that you wear on your wrist that tracks how many steps you take each day (among other things), and the daily goal is 10,000 steps. Well it was almost mid-January when I set mine up, and I cannot for the life of me reach 10,000. I have no idea how I can walk around campus and work everyday and not reach it, but its possible. Anyways, yesterday I finally reached 10,000!! It was a moment to remember for sure. I finally got the party on my wrist. I wanted to share that, because it was a good thing that happened to me yesterday after I had already posted.
So today’s challenge is to phone a friend or loved one. Of course, I could’ve just spent the entire day calling people that I love, but I chose to call someone that I haven’t spoken to in way too long, and that is my sister. She said she knew when she read the challenge that I would be calling her today, lol! I called her on my way home (I was actually pretty surprised she answered), and we got to catch up on a few things. It was really just nice to hear her voice. Like I talked about yesterday, it is easy to get so caught up in the craziness of each day that we can often take things for granted. This is the same with people too. All the sudden it has been a month and you realize you haven’t spoken to someone! It doesn’t mean we love them any less, or that we no longer care, we just don’t always put aside time to catch up with our friends and loved ones. Make time today to pick up the phone, even for just a quick ten minute chat. You won’t regret it!
